Meet the elders

Dennis Budkowski

Elder
Dennis has served our Lord Jesus and His church as a campus minister, teacher, care group leader, and administrator. Dennis describes Trinity Baptist Church as a family of believers who: love to worship their Lord and Savior; teach and preach the truths of the historic Christian faith; uphold the Bible as God’s revelation to us; and, love one another and those who have not yet placed their faith in Christ alone. Dennis and his wife Neta have called Marion their home for over forty years and are the parents of Jessica, Emily, and Hillary.

Phil Harbolt

Elder
Phil was born and raised attending Trinity Baptist Church and feels blessed to have a church family that has mentored and helped him grow in his walk with the lord from the cradle to this day. He is thankful for all the bible studies, care groups and sports activities that have helped him grow in his spiritual life and leadership roles. Phil is the husband to Susie and has two adult daughters Megan and Amy.

Dr. Mark Piacentini

Elder
The word of God is amazing in its transformational power, simplicity, and depth. Scripture is absolutely amazing showing us the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Mark loves the simple faith of children and their immense curiosity to understand Christ and the world that they live in. Mark is amazed how Jesus loves his people and shows them his love.

Ed Vaflor

Elder
Ed has been attending Trinity Baptist Church (TBC) since his parents immigrated from the Philippines in 1968.  He was influenced greatly by faithful believers at TBC to recognize his Savior's call on his life and was baptized there in 1978.  Ed has been part of the TBC leadership team for nearly two decades and the Eldership since its inception.  He has also led care groups and taught Sunday School classes.  He is the husband of Amy and father of three adult children, Cassie, Jon, and Christian.

Pastors & Staff

Daniel Mccoy

Lead Pastor & Elder

While some kids dream of growing up to be a doctor or an astronaut, ever since the time Daniel was a young child all he ever wanted to do is be a pastor. It is a task that is truly his life’s calling and has been the central motivating factor of everything in his life up to this point. Beginning at the age of 19, he was given the tremendous privilege of serving God’s people and serving God’s church. Since that time, Daniel has served in various ministerial roles including Youth Pastor, Staff Pastor, Sunday School teacher, Small Group Leader, and Senior Pastor. There is nothing he loves more than ministering to people and building eternal relationships. Starting in 2009, while serving as a youth pastor, Daniel began to realize the tremendous need to better equip himself for the immense task that lay ahead, first pursuing a Bachelors of Arts in Church Ministries, and then a Th. M. from Dallas Theological Seminary. Daniel is starting his doctorate in January 2023 at Masters Seminary. Throughout his studies and ministry he continues to be amazed at the goodness and greatness of the God we serve! He is excited to see what the future holds and what God is going to do at Trinity Baptist Church.

Nick Allen

Youth Pastor

Nick Allen has been on staff at Trinity since December 2020. Originally from southern Ohio, Nick came to know the Lord as a teenager and has been actively involved in the ministry since. After spending three years serving the Lord at an inner city church plant in Cincinnati, he accepted an opportunity to transition to the Youth Pastor role at Trinity. Nick graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies from Ohio Christian University in 2021 and is currently continuing his studies towards a Masters degree in Biblical Studies at The Master's University and Seminary.

Nick likes to spend his down time with his lovely wife, Lauren, reading theology books and fellowshipping with their church family at TBC.

Carson Gibson

Community Outreach and Evangelism Coordinator

Carson has called Marion Ohio home his entire life. He grew up in Claridon Township where he attended River Valley High School and graduated in 2013. He did not come to Faith in Jesus Christ until he was in his mid-twenties. Many in our community will know him from his time in automotive sales and banking. He now hopes to use the gifts that God has given him to bring the Gospel to those in our community.

“I hope to faithfully serve the Lord and to help others find the hope that has been given to me in Christ Alone. I pray to reach others so that they may have the joy in their life to know that JESUS IS ENOUGH”.

Monica Orewiler

Administrative Assistance

Monica joined the Trinity staff in 2022 and has been a blessing with her God honoring work ethic and demeanor, as well as her organization and communication skills.
